Ugs on a blog

This photo got me thinking about bugs on a log, or more specifically, slugs on a log.

And while I may not be an expert food stylist, I sure do love to post food photos and recipes on this here web site. So here's my top-secret recipe for Bugs on a Log, one of my all-time favorite snacks.

Bugs on a Log

Bugs on a Log

celery
peanut butter
raisins, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips, or actual dead bugs

Wash celery, pat dry and cut stalks into pieces about as long as your index finger.

Spread some peanut butter in the celery's inside channel using a knife, a spoon still in the sink from breakfast, another piece of celery, your finger, or whatever is convenient.

Firmly plant your raisin "bugs" into the peanut butter. I suppose if you use dried cranberries, you could call it Ladybugs on a Log.

Eat immediately, and preferably before you start looking at all the banana slug photos on flickr.

eeeeuuuwwww...for the real dead bugs. Remember Cal Worthington Chevrolet? "If I can't give you the best deal, I'll eat a bug!"
