I'm testing a theory
Take this "Programming Language Inventor or Serial Killer?" quiz (it's quick -- 10 questions), then post your results and your gender in the comments.

Yes! Audience participation!
I got 7 right. Totally guessing.
I am male.
I got 6 right -- mostly guessing myself. Although I totally knew who Berkowitz was. And I'm female.
7 out of 10 - female.
5/10. i got an F. i suck. maybe in a good way? berkowitz was totally the easiest. i wonder how our esteemed blog host scored?
speakng of sucking in a good way,
porn star or my little pony is an oldie but a goodie along a similar, um, vein.
oh yeah, i'm male.
7/10
female
neither coder nor serial killer
in training for a totally different form of social oddity.
Yes, dear hostess, how did you score?
I got 9/10. I'm female. Unscientific polling around the office seemed to indicate that women did better at spotting serial killers. But looking at these results, maybe not.
On the other hand, I only got 3/12 in Porn Star or My Little Pony.
Wait a second, the hostess got 9 out of 10?! This thing was rigged, I tell you!
No kidding, Dave! I want my money back. Plus I did really poorly on the My Little Pony/porn star names (maybe 4 correct?). Feh.
9/10, female. I don't know that this is a talent to spot serial killers, I think it's because I have very sensitive geek-radar. We nerdlings only feel safe with others of our own kind, so we must be able to recognize them from a distance. I only scored 1/12 on the pony-pornstar quiz, so, um, I guess I'm not meant for the adult film industry.
6/10 and i'm a chick.
"...it might be best to avoid a career in...IT recruitment"
umm. too late. is this a commentary on my most recent hires onto our tech team?!?!!
ps. i only got 4/12 on pony vs porn star.
6/10 on the serial killers, 2/10 on the porn/ponies (but maybe that's a good thing).
I'm sensing a trend here: the ladies are not so good with the porn/cartoon name distinctions. I think this is something we all can be proud of.
